XIX CENTURY OIL ON CANVAS NOCTURN IN STYLE OF Petrus van Schendel.
XIX century, beautiful nocturn, oil on canvas glued to board, 'River in the light of the moon' in style of Dutch painter Petrus van Schendel.
The atmosphere, colors and painting technique very similar to the style of a Dutch master.
The painting has small but visible craquelures because of the age (all secured now).
It's all placed in the left and right lower part of the painting (Please check pictures No.5,6)
The frame, copper coloured, had been damaged before then it seems like somebody tried to fixed it.
Decorative motifs in all four corners were repaired (please check pictures No.7,8,9,10).
We filled in all missing pieces of the frame and newly gilted it.
The frame and picture have been cleaned and newly varnished.
